Galaxia Next announced on the 31st that it has signed a business agreement with the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture to collaborate on an NFT project. This agreement pertains to the production, issuance, and distribution support of NFTs for artists in the basic arts sector, continuing the partnership for the second consecutive year following last year.
The Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture's "Basic Arts Sector Artists NFT Launch Project" is being operated for the second time this year after being piloted last year. This project supports performing arts artists, who face difficulties entering the NFT market due to the nature of their genre, in gaining access to the NFT market and securing self-sustainability. Galaxia Next is participating as a collaborative partner for the second consecutive year, supporting the creation, issuance, and distribution of NFT works on its NFT marketplace platform, MetaGalaxia.
This year, 33 leading domestic artists were selected through a review process, including theater actor Ju Hoseong, contemporary dancer Kim Seoljin, folk music artist Lee Heemun, and "Phantom Singer" tenor Kim Minseok. Each artist’s digital work will be issued later as a limited edition NFT and can be viewed simultaneously on both MetaGalaxia and the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture’s own platform. These works will also be exhibited offline through a separate curated exhibition prepared by the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture.
Shin Donghoon, CEO of Galaxia Next, said, “We are pleased to participate in the meaningful project of the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture for two consecutive years, supporting various artists’ entry into the NFT market. We will support Korea’s representative artists in connecting with the public in new ways through NFT works and take the lead in popularizing fandom culture using NFTs.”
