LG Electronics announced on the 31st that it will participate in 'IFA 2023,' Europe's largest home appliance exhibition held in Berlin, Germany, for five days starting from the 1st (local time).
LG Electronics' exhibition theme this year is 'Joy for Everyone and a Sustainable Life.' The company will unveil a wide range of premium home appliances and energy solutions aimed at sustainable daily life for people and the planet.
This year, LG Electronics designed its exhibition hall as the 'LG Sustainable Village,' symbolizing a forest path encountered in nature. From the planning stage, LG incorporated ESG elements such as accessibility and eco-friendliness. The exhibition booth uses recyclable fabric and mesh materials, while minimizing exhibition structures.
At this exhibition, LG Electronics will showcase ▲home energy solutions such as the Smart Cottage for customers' sustainable lives ▲energy-efficient products ▲ultra-personalized home appliances tailored to various lifestyles ▲and a variety of innovative technology-based products and services targeting the European premium market.

Energy Technology Concentration... Home Energy Solutions Including 'Smart Cottage' Unveiled
Upon entering the exhibition hall, visitors will first encounter the experience space for LG Electronics' small modular house, the 'LG Smart Cottage.' The Smart Cottage is a residential solution that integrates high-efficiency energy technologies. It features a 4-kilowatt (kW) solar panel roof that produces part of the energy used, the Thermave Monoblock heat pump heating and cooling system that excels in reducing energy consumption, and premium home appliances equipped with various energy-efficient technologies such as the Objet Collection WashTower Compact, dishwasher, induction electric range, and water purifier.
In the camping area around the LG Smart Cottage, visitors can enjoy the 'StanbyMe Go' and the premium wireless speaker 'LG XBOOM 360.' Launched this month in Europe, the StanbyMe Go is a lifestyle screen with an integrated design resembling a ready-bag style travel suitcase. It can be adjusted according to the viewing environment by rotating the screen horizontally or vertically or using table mode by laying it flat.
Next to the Smart Cottage exhibition space, a themed area called the Net Zero Vision House has been created to experience home energy solutions along with various new high-efficiency home appliances targeting the European market, including washing machines, dryers, refrigerators, and dishwashers.
Visitors can experience LG Electronics' energy control and management technologies implemented according to various energy usage situations in daily life, such as ▲clear days ▲early evenings ▲power outage scenarios. They can observe the process of energy produced by solar panels or leftover energy used at home being stored and consumed in the ESS, as well as conveniently control home appliances and monitor energy storage and consumption through LG ThinQ.
Ultra-Personalized Home Appliances... Experience LG UP Appliances 2.0 and Universal Up Kit
In the LG ThinQ home exhibition space, LG UP appliances that continuously upgrade necessary functions according to customer needs are showcased. Visitors can also experience ultra-personalized home appliances of LG UP Appliances 2.0, which allow customers to select products and services tailored to their preferences and lifestyles from the moment of purchase throughout usage.
Additionally, the exhibition unveils the Universal Up Kit for the first time, which enhances customer accessibility to home appliances. The Universal Up Kit is a detachable accessory that assists all customers in easily using LG Electronics products regardless of gender, age, or disability. Considering the establishment of a circular economy, recycled plastics will be used. Visitors can experience the Universal Up Kit attached to products such as refrigerators, washing machines, dryers, cordless vacuum cleaners, and water purifiers within the exhibition space.

'Better Life for Everyone' Reflected in All Stages from Manufacturing to Use to Recycling
The LG Upcycling Workshop space is decorated with various products such as Aero Furniture and shoe cases/shoe care items that apply recycled plastic materials to their exteriors. In addition, a customer participation program is held where visitors can naturally experience LG Electronics' resource circulation activities. Visitors can also participate in a plastic knot-making event using resin pellets processed from waste plastics sourced from the Chilseo Recycling Center.
In the Pocket Garden, a resting area within the exhibition booth, visitors can freely enjoy the wireless portable lifestyle screen LG StanbyMe and view the achievements of LG Electronics' ESG management activities for 'Better Life for Everyone.'
Targeting the European Market... Built-in and Ultra-Premium Home Appliances Unveiled
In the LG Signature Villa exhibition space, visitors can experience innovative second-generation LG Signature products such as the 'Washer-Dryer' that combines a large-capacity washing machine and inverter heat pump dryer, the wireless OLED TV 'LG Signature OLED M' with all connections except power removed, and the 'Dual InstaView Refrigerator' that allows viewing inside without opening the door.
LG Electronics also strengthened its lineup by introducing a new two-door model with upper refrigeration and lower freezing compartments of the MoodUp refrigerator, which was first unveiled and attracted significant attention at IFA 2022, tailored to the European lifestyle. MoodUp eliminates the hassle of replacing panels and paying additional costs to change the refrigerator's color and space atmosphere by simply selecting the desired color in the LG ThinQ app. Since no panels are discarded, it also contributes to environmental protection.
LG Electronics has also prepared a built-in exhibition zone under the theme 'Better Cooking Life for Everyone.' It showcases a new mass premium lineup optimized for the local market, including energy-efficient InstaView ovens, dishwashers, hood-integrated induction cooktops, and refrigerators with upper refrigeration and lower freezing compartments, aiming to capture the volume zone of the European built-in market.
Jae-cheol Ryu, President of LG Electronics' H&A Business Division, said, "We will continue to introduce smart home solutions that provide sustainable joy in customers' daily lives through eco-friendly and high-efficiency home appliances made with differentiated core components and advanced technology."
