Suwon City 'Carbon Neutrality Vision Declaration Ceremony' Information Poster

The city of Suwon in Gyeonggi Province will hold a Carbon Neutrality Vision Declaration Ceremony.

On the 30th, Suwon City announced that it will hold a vision declaration ceremony at the Suwon Convention Center on September 4th to proclaim its commitment to achieving carbon neutrality.

On that day, Mayor Lee Jae-jun of Suwon will appoint members of the Carbon Neutrality Citizens' Committee and announce the carbon neutrality vision and policies.

The Suwon Carbon Neutrality Citizens' Committee is composed of 145 members.

After the vision declaration ceremony, Suwon City will hold a Carbon Neutrality Forum themed "Exploring Ways to Achieve Urban Carbon Neutrality" to commemorate the opening of the Carbon Neutrality Support Center.

The forum will consist of keynote presentations and panel discussions.

The presentation topics include ▲ National Strategy for Carbon Neutral Green Growth and the Role of Local Governments (Cho Ik-no, Director of the Inclusive Transition Bureau, 2050 Carbon Neutral Green Growth Committee) ▲ Local Government Response Measures in the Era of Climate Crisis (Professor Song Young-geun, Graduate School of Environmental Studies, Seoul National University) ▲ Operational Direction of Suwon Carbon Neutrality Support Center (Kang Eun-ha, Director of Suwon Carbon Neutrality Support Center). The panel discussion, chaired by Professor Kim Jeong-in of Chung-Ang University, will be held under the theme "Suwon-type Citizen-led Carbon Neutral Green Growth Realization Measures."

Meanwhile, the Suwon Carbon Neutrality Support Center, which began operations in June, plays various roles including establishing a policy foundation for carbon neutrality and green growth, promoting carbon neutrality research projects, external publicity of carbon neutrality, and discovering ways for citizen participation.
