Ulleung County Governor in South Korea Proposes Support for School Complex Facilities to Gyeongbuk Provincial Superintendent of Education

Nam Han-kwon, the governor of Ulleung County, met with Lim Jong-sik, the Superintendent of Gyeongbuk Provincial Office of Education, on the 28th to propose support for the construction of a school complex facility in Ulleung County and discuss local educational issues such as the utilization of closed schools in Ulleung County.


The school complex facility project is an initiative by the Ministry of Education to improve local living conditions by installing educational, childcare, cultural, and sports facilities needed by schools and local communities in an integrated manner over five years from this year to 2027.

The county requested administrative and financial support from the Gyeongbuk Provincial Office of Education, the property management institution, to build the school complex facility utilizing the Ulleung Student Gymnasium and Ulleung High School.


Additionally, they actively proposed plans to utilize closed schools to promote regional vitality and improve future educational conditions.


Governor Nam Han-kwon stated, “We will closely communicate with the Gyeongbuk Provincial Office of Education to ensure that schools and local residents can achieve mutual development by utilizing school facilities.”
