At around 11:03 a.m. on the 29th, an accident occurred on the Namhae Expressway near Sinsan-ri, Sanin-myeon, Haman-gun, Gyeongnam, involving seven vehicles that overturned or were damaged.

According to the Gyeongnam Fire Headquarters, at the 112 km mark in the direction of Suncheon near the Sanin Junction, a trailer slipped on the rainy road, causing about 14 aluminum rods loaded on the vehicle to fall onto the opposite lane.

Seven vehicles, including a 1-ton truck, a 3.5-ton truck, and passenger cars traveling toward Busan on the opposite side, tried to avoid the falling objects but were involved in successive accidents.

As a result of the accident, four cargo trucks and three passenger cars overturned or were damaged, leaving one person seriously injured and five others with minor injuries.

Fourteen pieces of equipment, including fire engines and ambulances, and 43 personnel including firefighters and police officers were dispatched to the scene.

Severe traffic congestion occurred on both sides of the road for a while, but traffic flow in both directions became smooth after 2 p.m.

The police and fire authorities are investigating the exact cause of the accident, believing that the trailer slipped on the rainy road and caused the accident.
