President Yoon Attends People Power Party Workshop on the 28th
The leadership of the People Power Party pledged "victory in next year's general election" at the dinner during the training session on the 28th, held together with President Yoon Seok-yeol and the cabinet members.
Kim Ki-hyun, leader of the People Power Party, said at the dinner, "We must do well in this regular session of the National Assembly. It is the responsibility of the lawmakers to ensure that the improving effects permeate the livelihood sites and that the public feels that various livelihood issues are being resolved like capillaries." He added, "If we work hard and communicate, we will win next year's general election."
Then, when Leader Kim asked the attending lawmakers, "Do you agree, are you confident, are you ready?" the lawmakers responded loudly, "Yes."
Floor leader Yoon Jae-ok also said, "This regular session is the last regular session of the 21st National Assembly," and added, "We must gain the trust of the people through outstanding legislative activities and use it as a stepping stone for victory in the general election."
Floor leader Yoon emphasized, "Victory in next year's general election and achieving a substantial regime change are necessary for the success of the Yoon administration and the success of the Republic of Korea. We must have the spirit of 'I am Yoon Seok-yeol' and 'Everyone is Yoon Seok-yeol' with a resolve of life or death."
At the training session, a toast was made with omija juice instead of alcohol, and Lee Ju-ho, Deputy Prime Minister for Social Affairs and Minister of Education, proposed a toast saying, "To the success of the three major reforms of the Yoon Seok-yeol government." The second toast was by Yoo Jung-bok, Mayor of Incheon, saying, "To the success of the Yoon Seok-yeol government," and the third was by Jeon Ju-hye, floor spokesperson, saying, "To the uppercut of success."
Dinner consisted of lunchbox sets personally tasted and prepared by Floor leader Yoon. The lunchboxes reportedly included a variety of menus such as meat, fish, and fruit. Mayor Yoo of Incheon prepared minohoe (croaker sashimi), and lawmaker Kim Jeong-jae prepared octopus sashimi.
President Yoon Seok-yeol, attending the party training session for the second time following last year, stayed at the dinner table for about an hour from 6:30 p.m. to 7:28 p.m., according to Floor spokesperson Jeon.
On that day, President Yoon reportedly did not make any remarks regarding the "capital region crisis theory" or the general election. Floor spokesperson Jeon explained at a briefing after the dinner, "It was not a place to discuss such matters," and added, "Since it was a place to exchange opinions related to state affairs, there was no official discussion."
