Yoon Sang-hyun: "Let's Include Figures and Policies That Reflect Sudogwon Sentiments"

Kim Ki-hyun, leader of the People Power Party, addressed the recently raised so-called 'Capital Region Crisis Theory' on the 28th, calling it a "dynamic party image" and "a healthy debate." This is interpreted as reflecting Kim's intention to unite party members ahead of next year's general election for the National Assembly.

In his opening remarks at the '2023 People Power Party National Assembly Members Workshop' held at the Incheon International Airport Corporation Talent Development Center, Kim said, "Within the party, there is a debate on whether this election will be difficult or easy, and creating a productive process through such discussions is exactly the image of a dynamic party," adding, "I believe the various controversies surrounding this Capital Region election represent a very healthy debate for us."

Kim emphasized, "In fact, there has been only one time when the Capital Region election was not difficult," and added, "It is truly a challenging area. Therefore, we must devote even more effort to approach the sentiments of the people in the Capital Region."

He stated, "We must not lose our vigilance and take this as a sharp admonition, continuously doubling our efforts in the Capital Region with determination," and announced that he would hold an executive meeting in Suncheon this week.

Kim, who spent last weekend in Jeonju and Gwangju meeting many people, said, "Seeing the sincerity felt in their attitudes, I have once again gained confidence that if we continuously show genuine interest and sincerity and demonstrate that we will work together, we can bring about definite change in this general election."

He stressed the importance of recruiting talented individuals to create a 'new wind' in the nationwide election. Kim said, "We must bring in the best talents from across the country," adding, "We will transcend factions. Personal likes or dislikes do not matter. If they are good talents who can lead us to victory in this general election, we must actively recruit them, even if it means persistent efforts beyond the traditional three visits."

Yoon Sang-hyun, a People Power Party lawmaker who raised the Capital Region Crisis Theory, announced on the 29th that he would make several proposals to the party leadership.

At the workshop that day, Yoon told reporters, "What is truly important is to quickly capture the voices of voters, self-employed citizens, and others we meet on the ground in the Capital Region," adding, "We must reflect on ourselves where necessary, propose alternatives where possible, and start efforts now to include people, policies, and strategic messages that resonate with the Capital Region's sentiments."

He also added that the party should proactively prepare for future situations in the Democratic Party without Lee Jae-myung, the leader of the Democratic Party.
