No Claim on First Prize for Lotto Draw No. 1035
Unclaimed Winnings Will Revert to Lottery Fund Upon Expiry
The owner of the Lotto first prize winnings of 3.23 billion KRW, which will expire in about one month, has not yet come forward.
According to Donghaeng Lottery, the lottery operator, on the 28th, one of the eight first prize winners of the 1035th Lotto draw held on October 1 last year has not yet claimed the prize. The ticket was sold in Michuhol-gu, Incheon, and the prize amount is 323,119,000 KRW.
The expiration period for claiming Lotto winnings is within one year from the start date of payment. If the winner of the 1035th draw does not claim the prize by October 4, the prize money will be forfeited to the lottery fund.
The forfeited amount will be used for public interest projects according to the Lottery and Lottery Fund Act, including ▲support projects for housing stability for low-income groups ▲welfare projects for national merit recipients ▲welfare projects for marginalized groups ▲support projects for multicultural families ▲promotion projects for culture and arts.
Meanwhile, the total amount of Lotto winnings expiring in one week is 843 million KRW. This includes a second prize winner (prize money of 66.95 million KRW) who has also not yet claimed the prize.
However, cases where winners appear just before the expiration date do occur occasionally. In July, the winner of the 1024th Lotto draw appeared at the NongHyup Bank headquarters on the last day of the payment period to claim the prize of 3.02 billion KRW.
