LG Electronics is making new attempts to change lifestyles by continuously introducing unprecedented products through its marketing platform 'LG Labs,' which began full-scale operation in the second half of this year. It has even earned the nickname 'New Weapon Gathering Place.'
On the 28th, LG Electronics showcased three new products on the official 'LG Labs' website: Breeze, Pluspot, and Monshucle. Soon, three additional products?Hover Gym, Exicycle, and Bon Voyage?will be added.
LG Labs started as an innovative marketing platform that selects the most experimental and innovative products and services at LG Electronics, providing rapid market validation and marketing and promotional opportunities for new business candidates. It encompasses all experimental idea-based products, services, and marketing activities discovered within the company.
After unveiling the LG Labs exhibition hall for the first time at CES 2023, the world's largest IT and home appliance exhibition, earlier this year, LG Electronics officially launched the LG Labs website last month, marking the platform's full-scale operation. It operates focusing on products that have never been tried before, products not found in the market, and those with business potential, aiming to establish itself as a new icon that imprints LG Electronics' DNA of challenge and innovation. This is one of LG Electronics' attempts toward its future vision as a 'Smart Life Solution Company.' It is a place that can serve as a testbed for various innovative products and solutions.
The first product from LG Labs, introduced last month, is the mind wellness solution 'Breeze,' which helps users achieve healthy and happy mental states. It is a sleep aid product that uses a dedicated wireless earset to measure the user's brainwaves in real-time, providing over 90 types of content such as frequency sounds that reduce stress and induce deep sleep. The product was born from new ideas developed by an in-house independent company (CIC) composed of LG Electronics employees. Other unprecedented products and services currently showcased on the LG Labs website include Pluspot, a micro-mobility parking solution that rewards users when they dock shared economy personal mobility devices like electric bicycles and kickboards on a wireless fast charger, and Monshucle, an NFT-based digital virtual shoe collection.
LG Electronics also plans to introduce 'Bon Voyage,' a customer-customized living space with mobility, on the LG Labs website soon. This living space, designed as a duplex open structure of about 20 square meters (approximately 6 pyeong), can be docked at locations desired by customers. For example, a Bon Voyage unit placed in Seoul as accommodation can be transported by car to Sokcho and used like a pension. It is equipped with an air conditioning system, home appliances, Internet of Things (IoT) products, furniture, and more. It was planned to conduct more in-depth research on various residential culture trends, and based on this, LG Electronics intends to focus on studying optimal spaces and designs according to customers' lifestyles.
Additionally, Hover Gym and Exicycle, which received positive responses when introduced at CES 2023, will be added. Hover Gym is a new concept exercise equipment utilizing world-class motor and control technology. It is a smart home strength training solution developed in-house that can be easily installed, moved, and stored at home, allowing users to safely perform various weight training exercises alone. Exicycle is an indoor bicycle that provides an immersive experience similar to riding a bike outdoors while indoors. Its main feature is that users can watch over 100 different content options and pedal indoors while feeling the realism of outdoor cycling.
An LG Electronics official said, “Through LG Labs, we will introduce experimental products and solutions to propose a better life to customers,” adding, “We will provide unprecedented customer experiences with products and solutions that break common sense, break the mold, and awaken ideas.”
