People Power Party Holds 2-Day Workshop... Collaborating to Prepare for Regular National Assembly and General Election

Resolution Adoption Planned After Subcommittee Discussions by Standing Committees

The People Power Party will hold a 2-day, 1-night event starting on the 28th to discuss strategies in preparation for the regular National Assembly session and the general election.


On the same day, the People Power Party will hold a workshop at the Incheon International Airport Corporation Talent Development Center to prepare for the regular National Assembly session opening on September 1.

Following the opening remarks by Floor Leader Yoon Jae-ok and the general remarks by Party Leader Kim Ki-hyun, Policy Committee Chair Park Dae-chul will give a report, Secretary-General Lee Cheol-gyu will report on party affairs, and Senior Deputy Floor Leader Lee Yang-su will provide a floor report.


At this workshop, former Emergency Committee Chair of the Liberty Korea Party and Advisor to the Federation of Korean Industries Kim Byung-joon, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Choo Kyung-ho, and Professor Koo Jung-woo of Sungkyunkwan University will each give special lectures on the themes of "National Unity," "Economy," and "Communication," respectively.


The lawmakers are scheduled to discuss strategies for the regular National Assembly session through subgroup discussions by standing committees in the afternoon.


In particular, strategies for legislation and budget review to support the Yoon Seok-yeol administration’s national agenda, as well as opposition strategies related to the discharge of contaminated water from the Fukushima nuclear power plant in Japan, are expected to be addressed. Deputy Prime Minister Choo, Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Won Hee-ryong, and other ministers and vice ministers from government departments will also attend in large numbers to discuss ways to ensure smooth cooperation between the party and the government.


On the 29th, the results of the subgroup discussions by standing committees and a free discussion will be held, followed by the adoption of a resolution.
