GS25 Launches 'Cookie Run TCG Card Game' for Alpha Generation Ddakji Play Exclusively

GS Retail announced on the 28th that its convenience store GS25 and supermarket GS The Fresh will exclusively launch three starter decks of the trading card game (TCG) ‘Cookie Run: Bravers’ on the 1st of next month.

TCG is a game where players build their own deck (a bundle of cards) according to set rules and compete against opponents. Games remembered from school days such as ttakji-chigi, gonggi-nori, and marbles have become popular as fun TCG games among children since the 2000s.


GS25 introduced this product to bring in a new category with high growth potential to create new sales growth drivers for stores, while also serving as a consumption channel for toy products that customers need. The ‘Cookie Run: Bravers’ starter decks will be released in three types (Sunkissed, Sparchio, Terabaum), and the product set includes △ 60 Cookie Run cards △ basic playmat △ instruction manual. The price is 11,000 KRW. The global market size of trading card games (TCG) is currently estimated by the industry to be about 4 trillion KRW, and it is expected to grow to about 10 trillion KRW by 2030.


GS25 expects active card trading and collecting activities of ‘Cookie Run: Bravers’ among elementary school students, Cookie Run game users, and TCG enthusiasts.


Heo Yeol, MD of GS25 Life Living Planning Team, said, “We decided to exclusively launch the newly released Cookie Run trading card game at GS25 and GS The Fresh to make it easier and faster to experience,” adding, “We will continue to expand the toy category that brings joy to both givers and receivers, realizing customer satisfaction and leading a new play culture.”


Meanwhile, to commemorate the launch of Cookie Run TCG, the Cookie Run Bravers Festa will be held at Lotte World from September 1 to 3. The event will promote ‘Cookie Run: Bravers’ through fan signings with creators and production staff, as well as influencer event matches. Afterwards, Lotte World will operate the ‘Cookie Run: Bravers Station’ for six months, where customers can enjoy and experience ‘Cookie Run: Bravers’ together.
