"Making Hanwoo as Famous as K-Pop"... Korea-Cambodia Agree to Actively Cooperate to Expand Exports

Jeong Hwang-geun, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, met on the 27th (local time) with Sia Lerti, Chairman of Worldbridge Group, Cambodia's largest logistics and distribution conglomerate, Allen Dotson Tan, Vice Chairman, Rama Oskmer, CEO of Oskmer, a subsidiary of Worldbridge and the largest food importer in Cambodia, and Junho Lee, CEO of Gibon, a Korean beef export company, to discuss strategies for expanding Korean beef exports in Cambodia.

Worldbridge Group is one of the four major conglomerates in Cambodia, handling over 70% of local logistics. They have actively worked to enable Korean beef exports to Cambodia by visiting Korea directly to survey Korean beef restaurants and communicating directly with exporters.

At the meeting with Minister Jeong, Chairman Sia Lerti said, "I am well aware of the excellence of Korean beef. I will make Korean beef as famous as K-pop," and added, "I hope to expand agricultural exchanges centered on not only Korean beef but also Korea's agricultural technology and know-how." In response, Minister Jeong replied that they should maintain a mutually beneficial and sincere cooperative relationship to advance bilateral relations.

Minister Jeong said, "I am very honored to come to Cambodia, which is growing remarkably, to meet local businesspeople directly and discuss future agricultural cooperation plans," and added, "I will provide all necessary support so that Korean beef can become a global star beyond Cambodia."
