Seongnam City's local currency, 'Seongnam Sarang Gift Certificate'

Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province will offer a 10% discount on the local currency 'Seongnam Sarang Gift Certificate' ahead of Chuseok. The sales volume is 60 billion KRW.

Seongnam City announced on the 28th that it will sell the Seongnam Sarang Gift Certificate at a special 10% discount from September 1st until supplies last.

Accordingly, you can purchase a 10,000 KRW Seongnam Sarang Gift Certificate for 9,000 KRW in cash, with a monthly purchase limit of 300,000 KRW per individual.

Paper gift certificates can be purchased at 123 Seongnam branches of NH Nonghyup Bank, Livestock Cooperative, Credit Unions, Saemaeul Geumgo, and others, and a valid ID is required for purchase.

Mobile gift certificates can be purchased through the 'Local Gift Certificate Chak' app, and the linked local currency check card can be applied for and issued via the app or NH Nonghyup Bank.

The Seongnam Sarang Gift Certificate can be used like cash at affiliated stores such as traditional markets, small shops, and taxis within the region.

Order and delivery services are also available through private delivery apps Wemakeprice O and Meokkebi, which are linked to the mobile local currency app.

A Seongnam City official stated, "By promoting the 10% discount sale of the Seongnam Sarang Gift Certificate, we aim to reduce the economic burden on citizens preparing for Chuseok and revitalize the local economy by encouraging shopping at traditional markets and neighborhood businesses."
