Songpa-gu to Hold College Entrance Briefing on September 8 at 10 AM... Mock Exam Analysis, Early Admission Check, and CSAT Preparation Strategies... First 400 Applicants Accepted
Songpa-gu (District Mayor Seo Gang-seok) will hold the "2024 College Entrance Exam Preparation Briefing Session" to prepare for the rapidly changing admissions environment, including the exclusion of so-called 'killer questions.'
As of the end of last year, Songpa-gu has the largest number of students among Seoul's autonomous districts, with approximately 67,000 students. Accordingly, the district has been conducting various support projects such as one-on-one college admission consulting and briefing sessions every year, receiving positive responses.
In fact, parents who participated in the one-on-one college admission consulting for early admissions held last August shared their feedback: "Schools focus on counseling centered on admission results, but Songpa-gu's consulting provided direction on whether the desired major suits my child and detailed preparation processes, which was very helpful," "It was a time to realistically consider the schools of interest and my child's situation," and "The consultation matched my child's science-oriented tendencies, and one hour was not enough."
On September 8, 70 days before the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT), a "College Entrance Exam Briefing Session" will be held at 10 a.m. in the district office auditorium to help resolve practical admission concerns.
The briefing session held earlier this year attracted high interest, with over 600 applicants registering within two days for the 400 available seats.
This session will feature Kim Min-seong, director of the IDA Admissions Research Institute, as the lecturer. He is an admissions expert covering not only CSAT preparation but also essay screening and interview strategies. The session will address topics such as ▲September mock exam analysis ▲final review of early admissions ▲last-minute CSAT preparation strategies to resolve attendees' questions.
Applications will be accepted from 9 a.m. on August 28 via the "Songpa Run" website. Any Songpa-gu examinee or parent can participate, with a first-come, first-served limit of 400 participants. For inquiries, please contact the Education Cooperation Division of Songpa-gu Office.
Seo Gang-seok, Mayor of Songpa-gu, stated, "With the annually changing CSAT and various school-specific admission processes, students and parents are likely to have many concerns. We will continue to provide one-on-one college admission consulting and a briefing session on regular admission strategies in December to actively support students in achieving their desired results in admissions."
