SNS Post Titled 'Failed Novel North Korea Remittance' Uploaded
Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, stated on the 26th regarding the 'Ssangbangwool North Korea remittance' allegations, "Kim Seong-tae (former chairman of Ssangbangwool Group) is known to have a background in organized crime and a bad reputation, so I avoided meeting him and had no intention of doing so."
In a post titled "Failed Novel North Korea Remittance" on his Facebook that day, Lee wrote, "It is said that Kim Seong-tae paid 8 million dollars to North Korea on behalf of Lee Jae-myung in 2019."
Lee emphasized, "After private meetings failed, in March 2020, Ssangbangwool requested a ceremony for delivering 100,000 masks attended by Kim Seong-tae and the governor," adding, "Although Lee Jae-myung attended a ceremony delivering thousands of masks, he saw through Kim Seong-tae's intentions and refused."
He continued, "Even after giving a 10 billion won bribe, to be refused official meetings or even a photo opportunity, the storyline is too flimsy," criticizing the prosecution's investigation.

The Democratic Party's 'Prosecution Dictatorship Political Oppression Countermeasures Committee' also issued a statement that day titled "Five Reasons Why the Prosecution's Allegation of Kim Seong-tae and Lee Jae-myung's Involvement Is Fiction," fully denying Lee's 'third-party bribery charges.'
The committee argued, "The prosecution's claims that Lee was involved rely only on fabricated testimonies seemingly obtained through coercion and pressure, with no motive or evidence supporting the charges," adding, "It is time to discard the absurd novel full of setting errors issued by the prosecution."
The committee also distributed poster-style graphic materials refuting the prosecution's claims.
