Dong-Eui Science University Holds Special Lecture on 'Learning Nursing Professionalism from Seniors'

The Department of Nursing at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology held a special lecture titled "Learning Nursing Character from Alumni" on the 22nd, inviting senior nursing graduates who are active in the health and medical fields.

This special lecture, held consecutively from the previous year, was organized to hear employment-related advice from alumni working in various fields.

At the event, the president of the Nursing Department Alumni Association, Jang Do-jong, firefighter Choi Jun-hyuk, clinical nurse Seok Hong-kwon, public health official Kang Joo-hee, and nurse Kim Ji-hong, who works at the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs hospital, were invited.

The students who participated in the lecture gained significant help in preparing for employment by understanding how to become a public health official and learning about the hospital environment and working conditions in Saudi Arabia.

Jang Do-jong, president of the Nursing Department Alumni Association, said, “As a male nurse, clinical work is attractive, but I wanted to emphasize that you can work in various places,” adding, “Visiting my alma mater after a long time brought back memories of my university days and seeing the progress made makes me proud to be a graduate of Dong-Eui Institute of Technology.”

Department head Kang Hyo-jung said, “Through this special lecture, current students were able to hear not only about diverse experiences and competencies needed for employment from seniors but also about workplace culture felt in the field,” and added, “We will do our best every year to invite alumni working in various fields to have exchange time with juniors.”

The Department of Nursing at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology guides students based on an excellent educational environment and practice-oriented education, and recently received a 5-year accreditation in the 4th cycle nursing education accreditation evaluation.
