Uljin-gun, Gyeongbuk Province (Governor Son Byung-bok) announced that on the 18th, the Uljin-gun Comprehensive Volunteer Center (Director Jang Tae-yoon) visited Gunwi-gun, which was damaged by Typhoon Khanun, to support the ‘Cham! Good Love Meal Truck’.
This meal service served as an encouragement event for the victims of Gunwi-gun, designated as a special disaster area, and the recovery workers who are striving to restore flood damage. Volunteers traveled to Gunwi-gun from early morning and personally prepared and provided lunch boxes with rice and side dishes.
The Cham! Good Love Meal Truck has been operated for 10 years this year, supported annually by operating budgets from IBK Industrial Bank and the Korea Volunteer Center Association, and carries out volunteer activities at various sites inside and outside the jurisdiction.
Bang Hyung-seop, Director of the Administrative Welfare Bureau, said, “We extend our condolences to Gunwi-gun, which suffered great damage from the typhoon,” and added, “We hope this meal truck support will provide some strength to those working hard on recovery despite the heat.”
