Singer and actress Lee Jung-hyun (43) reportedly purchased a building for 19.4 billion KRW to open a hospital for her husband, orthopedic surgeon Park Yoo-jung (40).

According to a report by Korea Economic Daily on the 15th, the Lee Jung-hyun couple bought a hospital building near Incheon City Hall Station in Guwol-dong, Namdong-gu, Incheon, for 19.4 billion KRW in May of this year.

The hospital building consists of two buildings: the main building with 8 floors above ground and 1 basement floor, and the annex with 5 floors above ground and 1 basement floor, totaling approximately 1,800 pyeong (about 5,950 square meters) with 81 hospital beds. The building loan amount is 16.2 billion KRW, with Lee Jung-hyun holding 99% ownership and her husband Park holding 1%, making Lee Jung-hyun the actual owner.

Lee Jung-hyun previously purchased a building located in Seongsu-dong 1-ga, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, for 4.36 billion KRW in March 2017 and sold it for 7 billion KRW in May 2021, earning a capital gain of 2.6 billion KRW in three years. It appears that she used that experience as a foundation to decide on this purchase despite the large loan amount of 16.2 billion KRW.

The hospital was also named after Lee Jung-hyun’s hit song "Wa".

Lee Jung-hyun appeared again on KBS2's 'Pyeonstorang' after giving birth and revealed her husband's face. She is also seen actively promoting by inviting close actress friends to her husband's hospital opening ceremony.

The media quoted an expert saying, "Considering transportation, location, surrounding environment, and a solid residential base, this seems to be a good purchase case," and added, "Although this building is in a general commercial area, it is designated as a district unit planning zone, so development is possible according to the public notice by Incheon City."

They continued, "Since the allowable floor area ratio for the main and annex buildings still remains, if parking space is secured, expansion seems possible, which could further increase the building’s value beyond just land price appreciation."

Meanwhile, Lee Jung-hyun debuted in 1996 with the film "Flower Petal." She delivered a powerful performance and swept various Best New Actress awards at film festivals that year. She then solidified her position as a singer with several hit songs such as "Wa," "Bakkwo," "Jullae," "Ban," "Neo," and "Michyeo," starting with her first album "Let's Go To My Star" in 1999, which featured "Wa" as the title track.

In March 2019, she married Park Yoo-jung, an orthopedic surgeon who is three years her junior, and they have a daughter together.
