The ‘Namjeong-myeon Residents’ Harmony Singing Contest,’ held by the residents of Namjeong-myeon, Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongbuk, was successfully held on the 15th at Jangsa Beach with the participation of about 300 residents and tourists.
At the event, the contest was hosted by comedian-turned-MC Choi Ki-jung from Namjeong-myeon, and featured a performance by singer Park Gu-yoon, who is active as a promotional ambassador for Yeongdeok-gun. Twenty residents selected as representatives from each village competed in the singing contest, and each village’s cheering squads heated up the midsummer night atmosphere.
The top prize was awarded to a participant from Sangam 1-ri, and various side events such as free barbecue tastings and prize giveaways for residents and tourists were held, creating a festive occasion where everyone united and enjoyed themselves.
Kim Ki-tae, chairman of the Jangsa Beach Management Committee, which hosted the event, said, “It was meaningful to bring harmony and joy to the residents through this event,” adding, “I hope it served as an opportunity for Namjeong-myeon residents to become more united and to create lasting memories for tourists.”
