The Jeonbuk Sunchang-gun Health and Medical Center announced on the 16th that it will conduct a demand survey for senior centers wishing to participate and preferred programs until the end of this month to expand the Senior Center Health Vitality Class.
Since the beginning of the year, the Health and Medical Center has been operating visiting Senior Center Health Vitality Classes to alleviate the boredom of the elderly during the off-season and promote health. It offers various programs such as preliminary basic tests (blood sugar, cholesterol, etc.), proper nutrition management education, and exercises to strengthen muscles, receiving great responses from the elderly in the area.
The elderly, exhausted from the heat and farming work, regain vitality for a moment through the Health Vitality Class, which also effectively helps with health management, leading to a steady increase in participation applications every month.
Accordingly, the Sunchang-gun Health and Medical Center plans to expand the operation of the Health Vitality Classes for the elderly by conducting a survey on the senior centers wishing to participate and their preferred programs, aiming to expand programs tailored to residents' needs starting next year.
Additionally, based on the survey results, they plan to intensively promote the training of 20 exercise instructors and conduct 4 to 8 off-season senior center programs per location in 2024 to expand senior center programs.
Jo Seok-beom, director of the Health and Medical Center, said, "We will do our best to discover various programs to alleviate the boredom of residents during the off-season and create lively senior centers to take good care of the elderly's health."
