"‘I Graduated from KAIST’ Rude Parent Was Not an Alumnus... Personal Information Exposed"

Published Book Revealed, Netizens' Star Rating Terror
"That Teacher Will Not Die... Legal Action" Warning

The identity of parent A, who caused controversy by verbally abusing a kindergarten teacher while claiming to have graduated from a prestigious university, was revealed through netizens' tracking. Four years ago, A said, "I graduated from KAIST MBA. How far have you studied?" but it turned out that he had never graduated from the KAIST MBA program.

On the 16th, a blog, social networking service (SNS) addresses, and titles of books presumed to be related to parent A were spreading on online communities. Some netizens have also been conducting a 'star rating attack' by giving the lowest ratings to book reviews of his past publications.

Critical comments flooded A’s blog as well, to which A responded, "I apologize. My words and actions four years ago were careless." This was effectively an acknowledgment that he was the person involved in the reported incident. However, he countered by saying, "I am sorry, but that teacher is not dead. It is not a teacher from Seoicho."

A’s claim to the kindergarten teacher that he "graduated from the KAIST MBA" was also found to be false. Some netizens uncovered this fact through a book presumed to have been published by A. The book contained a statement that "I enrolled in the KAIST Graduate School of Management SEMBA (Social Entrepreneurship MBA) program but withdrew after one year due to childbirth."

In response to a netizen’s comment, "Real KAIST alumni are angry that their honor has been tarnished," A replied, "I am not affiliated with KAIST in Daejeon. I apologize." When asked, "Which university did you graduate from, not the graduate school?" he said he graduated from a local private university.

When another netizen commented, "All teachers nationwide will remember your (A’s) name," A revealed the victim’s real name, saying, "I think all public kindergarten teachers will remember the name of ○○○ as well." He also warned, "Mentioning the child’s real name could lead to legal action."

Currently, the blog account has been deleted, but the comments have been captured and are rapidly spreading through online communities and social networking services (SNS).

According to a transcript released through the media, four years ago, A said to the kindergarten teacher, "How far have you studied? Now? I graduated from KAIST Business School and even got an MBA. Are parents who graduated from KAIST the problem? Can you keep acting like this? Really?"

He also sent long messages regardless of day or night, sometimes sending as many as 28 messages in one day. A demanded that the kindergarten teacher "think of the child as someone who will become a great member of society in the future," and also claimed false facts, saying, "This can be reflected in the teacher evaluation."
