Bucheon City in Gyeonggi Province has launched the 'Jeonse Fraud Victim Support Counseling Service' to protect the property rights of victims of jeonse fraud and assist in damage relief.
Counseling is available for free at the first-floor civil service office of Bucheon City Hall until the 25th of this month. Counseling hours are from noon to 8 p.m. on weekdays, excluding weekends.
Lawyers, judicial scriveners, psychological counselors, and employees from the Housing and Urban Guarantee Corporation (HUG) provide practical counseling related to jeonse fraud damage, including ▲related auctions and lawsuits (such as leasehold registration orders, eviction procedure responses, deposit return lawsuits, etc.) ▲support for victims' psychological recovery ▲guidance on financial and housing support programs. Bringing relevant documents will allow for more detailed counseling.
Before the enactment of the Special Act on Jeonse Fraud Victim Support, Bucheon City has been operating the 'Empty Jeonse Damage Prevention Counseling Desk' since May. Additionally, since the enactment of the Special Act in June, the city has been accepting applications from jeonse fraud victims and providing support.
A Bucheon City official stated, "Until now, public officials managed the jeonse damage counseling desk, but there were limitations in providing specialized legal counseling such as auctions. Since experts now provide free counseling directly, it will offer practical help to the victims."
