SK Telecom announced on the 13th that 6,000 people visited the ‘A. (A.Dot) Friends Popup Store’ opened at Lotte World in Jamsil, Seoul, over two days.
SKT is operating the ‘A. Friends Popup Store’ at the Lotte World Winniebinnie Plaza from the 11th to the 20th of this month. This popup store is designed like a shopping bag to match the concept of ‘AI friends like a gift,’ allowing visitors to meet ‘A. Friends’ as if they were real friends.
‘A. Friends’ are emotional AI agents of SKT’s AI service A.Dot (A.), featuring three characters each with their own persona: ‘Gil Bitna,’ a job seeker challenging for her dreams; ‘Yuk Jaei,’ a somewhat straightforward energizer; and ‘Kang Haru,’ a warm and affectionate character.
Visitors to the popup store can interact with ‘A. Friends’ through the A.Dot app at booths uniquely decorated for each character. In particular, even the same questions receive different answers depending on the character’s persona, creating a lively experience as if talking with real friends.
The popup store also includes a space where visitors can shoot videos with ‘A. Friends’ in 3D holograms. Additionally, an event is underway offering prizes such as ‘character goods’ and ‘mobile gift certificates’ through a lottery for all customers who download and sign up for the A.Dot app.
There is also an event where sharing the hologram video taken with ‘A. Friends’ on SNS enters participants into a draw to win mobile gift certificates.
On June 30, SKT completely revamped the user experience (UX) of its AI service A.Dot and added ‘ChatT,’ a generative AI based on Microsoft Azure Open AI’s ChatGPT, which provides expert knowledge information.
Furthermore, SKT has advanced its proprietary large language model (LLM) to offer a logical AI conversation service through A.Dot that understands complex contexts well and can engage in continuous dialogues.
