Shooting National Team Candidates Begin Summer Training Camp in Shooting Mecca Pohang

Korean Shooting Federation Conducts Annual Training Camp in Pohang for 5 Consecutive Years at Excellent Training Facilities

The national shooting team candidates will begin a 10-day summer training camp at the Pohang Indoor Shooting Range from the 16th to the 25th.

Winter training camp held last February at Pohang Indoor Shooting Range.

The Korea Shooting Federation has been conducting training camps for the youth national shooting team and national team candidates in Pohang for five years since 2019, achieving excellent results with a high selection rate of outstanding national representatives.

Yeogapsun, the coach of the national shooting team candidates, stated, “The Pohang Indoor Shooting Range is equipped with training facilities including 70 electronic target shooting lanes, vehicle support, and clean lodging facilities,” adding, “An environment where athletes can fully concentrate on training is provided, so we expect this summer training camp to lead to good results.”

This training, organized by the Korea Shooting Federation and the Pohang City Shooting Federation, involves 44 national team candidates selected strictly based on official competition records. They will follow the schedule aiming for selection to the national team for the Asian Shooting Championships (October 22 to November 2).

Hwang Sang-sik, Director of the Sports Industry Division, said, “Pohang not only hosts the Chungmugi National Middle and High School Shooting Competition every year but has also established itself as a shooting mecca by hosting training camps for national shooting team candidates and youth national teams,” adding, “We will continue to support the local economy through various sports marketing efforts.”
