The Protagonist of the Veiled AI Revolution, Ashish Baswani, Comes to Korea

AI Expert Formerly of Google Brain
Lead Author of the Paper Introducing 'Transformer'
Speaker at 'AI Summit Seoul 2023'

Dr. Ashishi Vaswani, a computer scientist and artificial intelligence (AI) expert formerly of Google Brain, is visiting Korea. Dr. Vaswani will attend as a speaker at the 'AI Summit Seoul 2023,' held over two days on the 13th and 14th of next month at the COEX Grand Ballroom in Seoul.

He is well-known as a co-author of the 2017 paper on the Transformer architecture, written together with colleagues from Google Brain, Google's deep learning AI research team.

The Transformer architecture has become the core foundation of various deep learning models, especially large language models including ChatGPT, Google Search, and Bard. AI expert Andrej Karpathy, who left Tesla to join OpenAI, described the Transformer as "a milestone in the history of AI."

Since the publication of the paper, many have been curious about Dr. Vaswani, but he has remained veiled from the public eye.

The company he founded, Essential AI, also keeps its product and service information confidential. The corporate website only describes it as "a generative AI for enterprises, a machine learning model useful for everyday use."

This AI Summit Seoul 2023 is expected to be an opportunity to meet Dr. Vaswani in person and satisfy such curiosity.
