Gurye Hwaeomsa Temple Donates Watermelons for Neighborly Love

Delivery of 40 Watermelons to Masan-myeon Senior Center

Jirisan Daehwa Eomsa Temple of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism (Chief Monk Deokmun) donated 40 watermelons (valued at 1.2 million KRW) to Masan-myeon at the 'Neighbor Love Goods Delivery Ceremony' held in front of the temple kitchen on the 9th.

The donated watermelons will be delivered to senior welfare facilities, such as senior centers in Masan-myeon, through the Community Chest of Korea.

At the delivery ceremony, Monk Deokun said, "I am glad to share my heart with neighbors during the hot summer," adding, "I hope the elders at the senior centers enjoy the watermelons and have a cool and healthy summer."

In response, Park Chun-young, head of Masan-myeon, said, "Thank you for always donating goods to neighbors in need and the elders using the senior centers," and added, "We will carefully deliver the heartfelt gift to the senior centers."

Meanwhile, Hwaeomsa Temple continuously carries out social contribution activities such as donating goods to neighbors in need during holidays every year and sharing Dongji porridge at senior centers in Masan-myeon during winter.
