Global Launch of Foldable Phones, Watch6, and Tab S9
Up to 350,000 KRW Additional Compensation for Tablet Returns
Samsung Electronics' newly unveiled products, including the 'foldable smartphones,' will be released today (the 11th) in more than 50 countries worldwide, including South Korea.
Samsung Electronics announced that it officially launched the Galaxy Z Flip5 and Z Fold5, Galaxy Watch6 series, and Galaxy Tab S9 series globally on this day.
The new products were introduced in over 50 countries such as South Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and China, with plans to complete the global launch by next month.
In particular, the Z Flip5 and Fold5 showed strong sales in pre-orders conducted before the official launch in major global markets including Europe, Latin America, Southeast Asia, and South Korea, surpassing the records of their predecessors. In South Korea, pre-orders reached 1.02 million units in one week, setting a record for the highest-ever foldable phone sales.
Samsung Electronics will offer various benefits to customers who purchase the products from today until September 30.
When purchasing the Z Flip5 or Fold5, customers can choose one of two options: a one-year Samsung Care+ damage protection plan or a 100,000 KRW coupon usable at the event mall.
Customers who purchase the Galaxy Watch6 series via the Samsung.com application will receive a 100,000 KRW discount coupon, a 30% discount coupon for purchasing the SmartThings Station and 25W PD charger, and a coupon for one free application of a genuine protective film at Samsung Electronics service centers.
Additionally, customers will receive various content benefits such as a 4-month YouTube Premium trial, a 6-month Microsoft 365 Basic trial, and a 3-month subscription to Willa.
For customers purchasing the Z Flip5 or Fold5, a 'Trade-in' event will run until September 30, offering up to an additional 150,000 KRW compensation on top of the used smartphone price when trading in their old smartphones.
Customers who purchase the Galaxy Watch6 series during the period will receive a 30,000 KRW coupon for watch accessories usable at the event mall. When trading in an old Galaxy Watch upon purchasing the Watch6, customers will receive up to an additional 60,000 KRW compensation on top of the used watch price.
Customers who purchase the Galaxy Tab S9 series will be eligible to buy genuine accessories at up to 50% off through the Samsung Members app. When trading in an old tablet, customers will receive up to an additional 350,000 KRW compensation on top of the used tablet price.
