Nexon Rebrands 'FIFA Online 4' to 'FC Online'

‘FIFA Online 4’ and 'FIFA Mobile' are changing their names to 'FC Online' and 'FC Mobile.'

Nexon announced on the 10th that the authentic online soccer games FIFA Online 4 and FIFA Mobile, developed by EA Korea Studio and serviced by Nexon, will rebrand to ‘FC Online’ and 'FC Mobile' on September 21 and 22, respectively.

Son Heung-min, the captain of South Korea, has been selected as the global ambassador for ‘FC Online,’ and Vinicius Junior, a key player of Real Madrid, will serve as the ambassador for ‘FC Mobile.’ They plan to jointly carry out brand campaigns.

Yu Hwi-dong, CEO of EA Korea Studio, said, “To present a new future for soccer through FC, we aim to elevate the global soccer experience to a new level by collaborating with over 300 licensing partners across the soccer industry,” adding, “The rich license portfolio, consisting of more than 19,000 players, over 700 teams, more than 100 stadiums, and over 30 leagues, is a strategy EA Sports has pursued for decades.”

All existing game information and play status can be enjoyed identically on ‘FC Online’ and ‘FC Mobile.’ Based on official licenses for various soccer leagues, clubs, countries, and players?including the English Premier League, German Bundesliga, Spanish La Liga, Italian Serie A, French Ligue 1, UEFA Champions League, and national teams?it will provide a richer and more vivid play experience.

To commemorate the rebranding, pre-registration for the ‘Founders Club,’ which offers in-game benefits, has begun. Joining the club will provide abundant rewards such as in-game currency and player cards. The first official tournament under the new brand ‘FC Online,’ the ‘2023 eK League Championship Season 2,’ will be held in October, and the game will make its debut as an official esports event on the international sports stage at the Hangzhou Asian Games opening on September 23.

In November, a large-scale offline esports festival will be held. The festival will feature players from Korea, China, Vietnam, and Thailand, along with influencers and representatives of the general public. Various programs, including European league matches and a pro all-star game, are planned.

Celebrating its 5th anniversary this year, ‘FIFA Online 4’ recorded its highest PC bang usage rate of 32.62% since its launch on July 15, ranking first in PC bang rankings. ‘FIFA Mobile,’ marking its 3rd anniversary this year, has also seen its user base more than double since last year’s World Cup, thanks to steady content updates and gameplay improvements reflecting user needs, ranking 7th in game downloads in the first half of this year.
