Dong Seoul University announced on the 10th that it is recruiting students for the 'Match-Up Drone Expert Face-to-Face Advanced Course' until August 25, giving priority to those who have completed the K-MOOC online drone expert course.
This Match-Up Drone Expert advanced training course is conducted through a consortium of LIG Nex1, TS Unmanned Aviation, Yuinfra, and Dong Seoul University.
The recruitment courses include ▲Advanced Drone Coding Course ▲Advanced Drone Manufacturing and Maintenance Course ▲Advanced Drone Piloting Course ▲Advanced Drone Filming and Mapping Course, with 15 students recruited for each course. Priority is given to certified evaluators and completers of the Match-Up Drone Expert course taken on K-MOOC.
This training course is designed for working professionals with an intensive weekend completion system (face-to-face classes on Saturdays and Sundays) over four weeks, and learner mentoring is provided through a mentor pool consisting of industry experts from leading companies and professors. Additionally, face-to-face practical training, which was lacking in the online course, is available.
The advanced coding course includes hands-on Arduino coding practice, the manufacturing and maintenance course involves practical training on manufacturing and maintaining drone types 1 and 4, the piloting course offers piloting practice with official flight hours recognized through simultaneous flight log recording, and the filming and mapping course provides advanced training including filming practice and mapping processes.
The coding, manufacturing and maintenance, and mapping courses will be held in classrooms at Dong Seoul University, while the piloting and filming courses will take place at the TS Unmanned Aviation airfield.
The 'Match-Up Drone Expert Advanced Course' runs from September 3 to October 7, and applications can be submitted via the Naver form link posted on the K-MOOC course registration page and Dong Seoul University’s blog.
September 3 and October 7, the start and end dates, are mentoring days with mentoring sessions before and after the training, and practical face-to-face classes will be held on Saturdays and Sundays including September 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, and 24.
A representative from Dong Seoul University stated, “The drone field is attracting wide interest among the technologies of the 4th industrial revolution and is also gaining attention as a technology for new career transitions,” adding, “To cultivate the insufficient aviation and drone specialists, bold investment in human resources from a mid- to long-term perspective is necessary to prepare for the expansion of demand for new technologies and highly skilled personnel.”
They further added, “In particular, to respond to rapid technological changes, it is necessary to strengthen the education system focusing on creativity and problem-solving skills in knowledge acquisition and to activate industry-academia-research cooperation.”
