[Video] Chase After a 20s Man Who Ran Barefoot When Caught Drunk Driving

A man in his 20s who fled barefoot on the asphalt after being caught for drunk driving was apprehended by the police.

Busan Yeonje Police Station announced on the 8th that they arrested Mr. A, who refused a breathalyzer test and ran away on July 25.

According to the police, at around 10:03 a.m. that day, they received a 112 report stating, "A black passenger car stopped in the middle of the road and just started moving," raising suspicion of drunk driving.

The responding officers found the vehicle near Mangmi Station and requested Mr. A to get out and take a breathalyzer test, but he refused and fled.

After running about 300 meters, Mr. A stopped the car in a nearby alley and ran away on foot, but the pursuing police officers chased and caught him.

At the time of arrest, Mr. A's blood alcohol concentration was found to be at the license cancellation level.

Officer Lee Ji-hwan of Yeonje Police Station Yeonil Precinct said, "We thought we couldn't catch him because the distance between the vehicles increased, but the accompanying sergeant predicted the escape route and we were able to apprehend him. We chased desperately because if we didn't catch Mr. A running barefoot on the asphalt now, there was concern about reoffending."
