"Find the Next Mobility" Kakao Mobility Hosts 'NEMOTON'

Kakao Mobility announced on the 8th that it will hold the Next Mobility Hackathon 'NEMOTHON,' a contest for innovative service ideas utilizing Kakao Mobility's technology.

NEMOTHON is the first hackathon hosted by Kakao Mobility. The goal is to discover various innovative service ideas based on Kakao Mobility's technologies such as application programming interfaces (API) and software development kits (SDK).

Kakao Mobility commercializes its core technology infrastructure and makes it available through the 'Kakao Mobility Developers' website. APIs and SDKs are provided so that external developers and partners can also utilize them.

Anyone, either individuals or teams of up to four members, can participate in NEMOTHON. There are no specific eligibility restrictions. Awards will be given to a total of three teams: 1st place (10 million KRW), 2nd place (5 million KRW), and 3rd place (2 million KRW), with a total prize of 17 million KRW.

Jang Sung-wook, head of Kakao Mobility's Future Mobility Research Institute, said, "We planned NEMOTHON to support the creation of various innovative service ideas based on Kakao Mobility's technology." He added, "We will continue to actively share Kakao Mobility's technology within the domestic technology ecosystem and seek ways to contribute to society through mobility technology."
