Campaign to Reduce Disposable Products
Kim Yushin, CEO of OCI, participated in the "Single-Use Products Zero Challenge," a campaign to reduce single-use products in daily life, on the 8th.
The Single-Use Products Zero Challenge is a relay campaign launched by the Ministry of Environment in February to reduce the use of single-use products in daily life and increase the use of reusable products. Participants take photos performing actions symbolizing reducing single-use products to zero and then nominate the next participant.
CEO Kim was nominated by Joo Youngmin, CEO of HD Hyundai Oilbank, and he nominated Kim Junhyung, CEO of POSCO Future M, and Kim Woochan, CEO of TKG Huchems, as the next participants.
CEO Kim said, "I am glad to participate in this valuable campaign for future generations," adding, "OCI plans to continuously expand activities for sustainable environmental conservation."
OCI has established environmental management policies and ECO environmental principles to proactively respond to climate change and is promoting environmental improvement activities at all business sites.
In May, OCI actively carried out carbon reduction and environmental protection activities, including newly creating the "OCI Forest" at Ichon Hangang Park in Seoul in collaboration with the Environmental Practice Federation. Employees voluntarily participate in various environmental conservation activities such as donating used clothes and zero-waste campaigns to prevent single-use products.
