On the 7th, Gangnam-gu and related public officials held a resolution meeting at the district office to demonstrate strong commitment to integrity



Gangnam District Mayor and Executives' Anti-Corruption and Integrity Commitment Pledge

Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jo Seong-myeong) held an 'Anti-Corruption and Integrity Practice Declaration and Resolution Meeting' on the 7th, attended by 82 executives including the district mayor, senior public officials, and executives from related public organizations (Gangnam-gu Urban Management Corporation, Gangnam Cultural Foundation, Gangnam Welfare Foundation).


This resolution meeting was organized to enhance employees' awareness of integrity by having all executives take the lead in pledging their commitment to integrity, and to further promote a culture of integrity within the organization. The district mayor and all executives signed the anti-corruption and integrity pledge and declared their commitment to practicing anti-corruption and integrity.


The anti-corruption and integrity pledge includes commitments such as ▲preventing corruption in the public sector and fostering a clean public service environment ▲prohibiting abuse of power, involvement in vested interests, and solicitation or mediation using official positions ▲eradicating all acts that could raise suspicion regarding bribery, entertainment, or integrity ▲excluding improper external interference related to duties ▲creating a public service environment where members can work with conviction.


The district office is promoting various integrity policies to establish a clean public service culture, including ▲operating an Integrity Promotion Planning Team ▲self-assessment of integrity levels and corruption-prone areas ▲customized integrity education for all employees ▲self-inspection of fraudulent claims in public finances.


Jo Seong-myeong, Mayor of Gangnam-gu, stated, “I hope that by having senior public officials take the lead in declaring their commitment to integrity, the culture of integrity will spread throughout the entire public service community. All employees will work with the mindset that ‘Integrity starts with me’ to build a trustworthy Gangnam for the residents.”
