The police went to Mr. A's home and confirmed that his teenage son, B, had posted the warning about a weapon rampage using a computer. B had posted in an online game chat room the previous afternoon, stating, "Tomorrow, there will be a knife attack at Ulsan 00 Elementary School." Someone who saw the message reported it to the police, prompting an investigation. The elementary school and its affiliated kindergarten were closed for the day on the 7th.

The police believe that B confessed to his parents after realizing from media reports that the weapon rampage warning was under investigation. The police are currently investigating B and his parents regarding the circumstances of the post.
