Baemin Goes All Out with Heatwave Measures for Rider Safety

Safety Training, Equipment Support, and Heat Illness Prevention Guide

Woowa Brothers Corp., the company in charge of Baedal Minjok's logistics services (CEO Kim Byung-woo), announced on the 7th that it is implementing various support measures to ensure riders can perform deliveries safely and healthily amid the heatwave.

On the 3rd, Woowa Brothers distributed a heat illness prevention guide to Baedal Minjok riders. This guide includes helpful information such as ▲the importance of hydration and rest ▲methods to block heat ▲checking the vehicle and environment ▲locating heat shelters ▲real-time weather updates. Additionally, it provides a heat illness self-awareness symptom test, prepared under the supervision of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, to help riders monitor their own health condition.

Beyond distributing this guide, Woowa Brothers has been consistently conducting professional training activities to help riders operate safely during heatwave conditions. At the rider training center ‘Baemin Rider School’ operated by Woowa Brothers, instructors with over 20 years of teaching experience deliver detailed lectures on heatwave countermeasures. The motorcycle training manual ‘Baemin Rider School Motorcycle Safety Training Manual,’ produced in-house by Woowa Brothers, also includes heatwave preparedness measures. A Woowa Brothers representative stated, "We plan to carry out various campaigns to help riders prepare for heat illnesses."

Woowa Brothers has also been steadily providing practical items to assist riders during heatwave conditions, in addition to safety education. Last month, they distributed heatwave preparedness items such as ‘handlebar covers’ that keep handlebars comfortable and ‘cool seats’ that maintain seat comfort against humidity and temperature to over 4,000 Baedal Minjok riders. During last year’s heatwave, they supported 4,800 sets of heat relief kits containing cool seats, handlebar covers, cool arm sleeves, and sun sticks. Additionally, some MFCs (Metropolitan Fulfillment Centers) of Baemin B Mart operate rider-exclusive rest areas to provide spaces for riders to escape the heat.
