SK Energy is launching the operation of a hydrogen refueling station for commercial vehicles capable of charging large hydrogen buses and trucks at the NaeTruckHouse site in Incheon. This is SK Energy's second large-scale hydrogen refueling station following the 'Ulsan Sanggae SK Hydrogen Refueling Station,' the first large freight vehicle hydrogen refueling station in Korea, which opened last April.

On the 4th, SK Energy held a completion ceremony for the 'NaeTruck Incheon Hydrogen Refueling Station' at NaeTruckHouse located in Sinheung-dong, Jung-gu, Incheon. About 30 people, including Jang Ho-jun, head of SK Energy's S&P Promotion Team, Kim Ki-cheol, CEO of NaeTruck Co., and hydrogen refueling customers and officials from bus and logistics companies, attended the event.

Incheon currently operates 23 hydrogen buses and 3 hydrogen trucks, and in April this year, it was selected as a target for the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's 'Hydrogen Fuel Cell System Purchase Support Pilot Project,' planning to supply an additional 130 hydrogen buses within the year.

Furthermore, by 2030, Incheon plans to supply 2,000 hydrogen buses, the largest scale in Korea, to further solidify its position as a leading hydrogen city. However, there are currently only seven hydrogen refueling stations operating in Incheon, highlighting the need to secure more refueling infrastructure.

The NaeTruck Incheon Hydrogen Refueling Station is a large-scale hydrogen refueling station with a capacity of 120 kg/h, built with a budget of 4 billion KRW from the government and 1.7 billion KRW from Incheon City. It can refuel 60 large freight vehicles per day and 24 hydrogen passenger cars per hour, expected to significantly contribute to achieving Incheon's hydrogen vehicle supply plan.

On this day, SK Energy signed a 'Hydrogen Refueling Station Usage Agreement' with two bus transportation companies operating hydrogen buses in Incheon to supply hydrogen stably. Furthermore, SK Energy plans to expand demand for passenger and commercial vehicles, contributing to improving charging convenience for hydrogen vehicle drivers in the Incheon area.

SK Energy is boldly implementing innovations to achieve the 2050 100% Net Zero goal in line with SK Innovation's 'Carbon to Green' strategy. It has provided differentiated customer services anytime and anywhere through approximately 3,000 gas stations, LPG stations nationwide, and 23 NaeTruckHouse locations. Going forward, SK Energy plans to expand its hydrogen business as an eco-friendly energy provider for customers needing green energy, focusing on key hubs linked to the existing gas station network.

Jang Ho-jun, head of SK Energy's S&P Promotion Team, stated, "SK Energy will continue to lead Korea's eco-friendly energy business as a supplier of green energy centered on large commercial vehicles."
