Gangbuk-gu Operates Emotional and Healing Programs Such as Water Play and Magic Shows at Ui-dong Family Camping Site
From August, Programs Including Water Play, Magic Shows, Eco-friendly Activities, Treasure Hunts, and Marshmallow Sharing Events Will Be Held
Outdoor Bookshelves to Be Installed in the Camping Site in September to Celebrate the Reading Season
Seoul’s Gangbuk-gu (District Mayor Lee Soon-hee) will operate a “Theme Program of Emotion and Healing” at the ‘Ui-dong Family Camping Site,’ known for its beauty and healing atmosphere, until December.
Located just a 5-minute walk from Exit 1 of Bukhansan Ui Station on the Ui-Sinseol Line, the Ui-dong Family Camping Site (28 Samyang-ro 181-gil, Gangbuk-gu) is one of Gangbuk-gu’s popular spots where families, friends, and couples visit to take a break from daily life in the city. It features 27 decks, 4 glamping units, and various facilities such as showers, restrooms, washing areas, and pergolas.
The district has prepared diverse programs so that camping site visitors can experience culture, emotion, and healing beyond simple camping.
First, from August, every Friday to Sunday at 2 PM for two hours, the “Cute Water Play” with fountains will help visitors beat the heat. On September 9 at 4 PM, a “Children’s Magic Show” featuring bubble and balloon shows will create memorable experiences for kids.
Additionally, on October 21 at 4 PM, an “Eco-friendly Craft Experience” using fallen leaves from the camping site will be held, and on November 18 at 4 PM, a “Treasure Hunt” program will be conducted with Gangbuk-i, the mascot of the Gangbuk Cultural Information Library. On December 15, a marshmallow sharing event will be hosted for camping site visitors.
Furthermore, starting in September, to welcome the autumn reading season, outdoor bookshelves will be installed within the Ui-dong Family Camping Site to create an atmosphere where visitors can enjoy camping and reading together.
Lee Soon-hee, Mayor of Gangbuk-gu, said, “The Ui-dong Family Camping Site, a local landmark and beautiful urban camping site, has received many positive reviews on social media from visitors. We will continue to develop various programs and expand the camping site to make Ui-dong Family Camping Site a representative camping site of Seoul.”
