Dobong-gu Opens Rest Areas on the 1st and 2nd Floors of the District Office to Residents Starting July
Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, reviewed the outcomes of the public cooling sharing program operated as part of cooling welfare in Dobong-gu together with Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, who visited Dobong-gu Office on the 3rd.
On July 10, Dobong-gu launched the ‘Sharecon Project’ to ▲reduce residents’ cooling costs and ▲encourage power saving at the local government level.
Mayor Oh Eon-seok said, “Word of mouth naturally spread among residents who came and went for civil service matters, turning the district office into a neighborhood community space,” adding, “It is beneficial for individual residents as they can reduce electricity bills and the risk of heat-related illnesses, and for the community as a whole, it helps lower power consumption.”
Mayor Oh also conveyed a government-requested project containing the wishes of 310,000 Dobong-gu residents to Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, saying, “We ask for the government’s active cooperation to ensure that Dobong-gu’s policies and projects proceed smoothly.”
Afterwards, Prime Minister Han and Mayor Oh moved to the nearby Changdong private station construction site, received a progress report from construction officials, encouraged workers laboring in the heatwave, and urged prevention of heat-related illnesses.
