On the 2nd, the Ministry announced that it will conduct a pilot study tour of Korean school trips for 100 Japanese educators and hold the "Korea-Japan Future Generation Tourism Exchange Activation Symposium" at 4 p.m. on the 4th at Seoul Dragon City.

In celebration of the "2023-2024 Visit Korea Year," the Ministry plans to actively reignite the atmosphere of youth school trips to Korea as a connecting link between the future generations of Korea and Japan.

To this end, school trip briefing sessions have been held since February in Fukuoka, Shizuoka, Miyagi, and Kagawa in Japan. Additionally, school trip programs have been jointly developed with the Japanese travel industry.

Considering that Japanese schools are already planning overseas school trips for 2024, from the 3rd to the 6th, a pilot tour will be conducted inviting 100 Japanese middle and high school officials and local government representatives responsible for student school trips from 88 schools. On the 4th, a symposium will be held to discuss the importance of future generation exchanges through Korean school trips by Japanese schools. A communication session will also be arranged with Korean educators (from 29 schools) interested in Korea-Japan student exchanges.

Park Jong-taek, Director of Tourism Policy at the Ministry, stated, "If the future generation in Japan develops a favorable impression of Korea and creates good memories, it can potentially lead to mid- to long-term revisit demand for K-tourism. We will strengthen the cooperative network among schools, local governments, and industries of both countries to ensure that visits by young people lead to active exchanges between the future generations of Korea and Japan."
