According to Yonhap News on the 1st, the Ilsan Western Police Station in Gyeonggi Province received a complaint from the comic's author, Mr. A, requesting punishment for Mr. B, who had unauthorizedly combined the author's work.

In the complaint, Mr. A claimed that the image combining General Yi Sun-sin's portrait with Lee Jae-myung's face was used by Democratic Party politicians as a social media post containing political messages.

A police official stated, "The complaint was received today, and we plan to summon and investigate the suspect according to procedures."

The original author said on his Facebook account that day, "What is clear is not which party it is or whose face was used," adding, "They packaged my drawing as if it were their own and used it with a thoroughly political intent, completely unrelated to my intentions."

He continued, "The fight I am starting today is simply a fight for the rightful copyright of my stolen drawing," and said, "Signing it as if it were their own drawing and even providing it to a specific politician, as in this case, goes against the principles I have upheld, so I intend to pursue this to the very end."
