Kakao Healthcare and Yonsei Medical Center Hold 'Global Digital Healthcare Symposium'

Kakao Healthcare announced that it will hold the ‘2023 Global Digital Healthcare Symposium’ on the 30th at the Yuilhan Hall of the Avison Biomedical Research Center, Yonsei University College of Medicine.

This symposium will focus on medical artificial intelligence (AI) and digital therapeutics (DTx), featuring ▲sharing research achievements ▲sharing policies and knowledge for technology development and commercialization ▲discussing the latest industry trends and future strategies.


In particular, in the afternoon, Patricia Florissi, Director of Google Cloud, and Hwang Hee, CEO of Kakao Healthcare, will give presentations on ‘Development of Medical Data Solutions Using AI and Global Market Trends.’ Professor Eun Lee from the Department of Psychiatry at Yonsei University College of Medicine will introduce a DTx platform demonstration case focusing on insomnia, and Professor Seungchan Yoo from the Department of Biomedical Systems Informatics at Yonsei University College of Medicine will present on vendor-neutral infrastructure for the deployment of DTx and medical AI.


Along with the symposium, domestic innovative companies leading the AI and DTx markets will operate promotional booths at the event site to introduce their company services and key technologies to visitors.


Kim Hyunchang, Director of the Digital Healthcare Innovation Research Institute at Yonsei Medical Center, said, “We have prepared this symposium to serve as a meaningful platform for information exchange among domestic and international industries, academia, research institutions, and hospitals related to medical AI and DTx,” adding, “We hope many people interested in the digital healthcare field will participate and actively engage in exchanges.”


Hwang Hee, CEO of Kakao Healthcare, also stated, “Through this event, we expect to grasp the major trends related to preparing for future healthcare in the era of medical digitalization,” and added, “We hope the symposium will contribute to creating a healthier digital healthcare ecosystem.”


Meanwhile, on the morning of the same day, a DTx workshop hosted by Evertree, a consulting platform for Software as a Medical Device (SaMD), will also be held. The workshop will include training on regulatory affairs and quality assurance (RA·QA) for DTx approval, clinical research associate (CRA) training for clinical trials, and education on clinical trial statistical design. Applications for the workshop can be made through the Evertree website.
