Jang Seong-cheol, director of the Public Opinion Center, said this on the 1st during an interview with CBS Radio's 'Kim Hyun-jung's News Show.' Director Jang is the person who sparked the rumors about Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, stepping down in October, which recently became a hot issue in Yeouido's political circles. When Director Jang made such a prediction, the Democratic Party responded by calling it an absurd claim.

Director Jang expressed regret for causing controversy, but this did not mean that his assertion was a baseless rumor. In particular, Director Jang claimed that "a Democratic Party official told me this," asserting that the source of his statement came from within the Democratic Party. However, he refrained from revealing who the individual was or whether they were a current lawmaker.

Director Jang said, "(The Democratic Party official) even mentioned several lawmakers' names. Not only lawmaker Kim Du-kwan, but also those who have been leading the discussions there are lawmaker A and lawmaker B. They told me this much. So I had no choice but to believe it."

However, Director Jang predicted that Lee Jae-myung would not be able to resign in October.

Director Jang stated, "Let me add one more thing: the October resignation will not happen. Because the plan was leaked by Jang Seong-cheol. There was a political and strategic judgment to impress the public through a political decision and to draw the public's attention and interest to the Democratic Party, but the plan was leaked."

Director Jang added, "Therefore, a Plan B must be prepared, and who told Jang Seong-cheol? There seems to be an atmosphere of 'find out, catch him.'
