On the 31st, the People Power Party issued a series of critical statements in response to former President Moon Jae-in's remark that "there was not a single case of corruption related to money."
Kim Min-su, spokesperson for the People Power Party, stated in a commentary that day, "Is former President Moon, even after leaving office, zealously collaborating with the Democratic Party to produce fake news?" He pointed out, "It is exhausting just to list the major incidents that occurred during Moon's Blue House tenure, including the 30-year-old Ulsan mayoral election interference case, the economic feasibility manipulation of Wolseong Unit 1, the Lime and Optimus fund frauds, the Ministry of Environment blacklist, the illegal travel ban on former Deputy Minister of Justice Kim Hak-eui, and the cover-up of the investigation into former Busan Deputy Mayor Yoo Jae-su."
Earlier, former President Moon introduced a book by former National Public Relations Secretary Yoon Jae-kwan on social media (SNS), saying, "I want to express my gratitude to the people at the Blue House at that time who worked hard, tried to change, and had not a single case of corruption related to money."
Spokesperson Kim said, "I want to ask whether filming a movie that glorifies himself and engaging in 'relay politics and aggressive actions' through SNS aligns with his words of wanting to be 'forgotten,' and how much more this country must deteriorate before it no longer feels futile." He added, "I hope he remains a 'true national elder' who, even now, thinks about the entire nation rather than 'my' faction, and criticizes the Democratic Party, which is heading down the path of corruption."
Choi Hyun-chul, deputy spokesperson for the People Power Party, criticized, "Former President Moon, who said he wanted to return as a forgotten person after leaving office, has fallen into self-contradiction and is generating fake news again." He added, "Corruption scandals related to the Moon administration's nuclear phase-out policy and solar power are emerging almost daily. In addition, judicial risks regarding suspicions of the Moon government, such as improper interference in the dismantling of the Four Major Rivers dams, widespread statistical manipulation, accusations of defection to the North and forced repatriation, and interference in the Ulsan mayoral election, are still ongoing."
Deputy spokesperson Choi said, "The bookstore owner who is driving South Korea, divided by factions, to extremes is betraying national interests and the people, using the local bookstore as a medium to promote divisive fandom politics." He pointed out, "Shouldn't former President Moon, as a former president rather than a faction leader, be contemplating the unity and development of the Republic of Korea?"
