Two Courses on Maintenance Project Resident School and Capacity Building Starting from September
Seodaemun-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seong-heon) announced on the 31st that it will open and operate the ‘Redevelopment and Reconstruction Maintenance Project Academy’ for free in the second half of this year. The Maintenance Project Academy is divided into the ‘Maintenance Project Residents’ School,’ which provides easy-to-understand guidance on various and complex maintenance project methods, and the ‘Maintenance Project Capacity Building Training’ to enhance the expertise of maintenance project association executives and employees.
The location is on the first floor of ‘Haha Hoho Hongje Village Vitality Center’ (483 Tongil-ro), near Hong Eun Intersection. The Residents’ School consists of 6 sessions, held every other Wednesday from September 13 to November 22, from 6:30 PM for 2 hours. Professors of urban engineering and representatives of architectural offices serve as instructors, explaining in an easy-to-understand manner about private redevelopment (Sintong Planning), reconstruction projects, and the understanding and promotion procedures of street housing maintenance projects.
The ‘Capacity Building Training’ consists of 10 sessions, held every other Monday from September 4 to December 18, from 6:30 PM for 2 hours. Architects, appraisers, accountants, lawyers, and employees of the Korea Real Estate Board serve as instructors, lecturing on business feasibility analysis in maintenance project promotion, association establishment approval and changes, executive election and roles, architectural review and impact assessment, appraisal, preparation of management disposition plans, demolition and relocation management, association liquidation and dissolution, and more.
The Residents’ School is targeted at residents interested in maintenance projects, and the Capacity Building Training is for maintenance project association executives and employees. Each program will recruit 80 participants on a first-come, first-served basis until August 18. Seodaemun-gu stated that the same education was conducted in the first half of the year, successfully carrying out the training with a cumulative attendance of about 980 people for in-person education and over 7,000 views on YouTube.
