"Resignation from CEO Position, Gyeayang-eul Non-Candidacy Card Remains"
"Myeongnak Meeting? Needed 'One Photo' and 'Unity'"
As rumors of Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, stepping down are spreading, former Democratic Party lawmaker Shin Kyung-min, who is pro-Lee Nak-yeon faction, analyzed that "Leader Lee has several cards and principles." He said that the cards of 'resigning from the leadership' and 'not running in Gyeyang-eul' can be used at any time, but he will never give up the nomination rights for next year's general election.
In an interview with BBS Radio's 'Jeon Young-shin's Morning Journal' on the 31st, former lawmaker Shin said, "If he steps down from the leadership, he will give up the avatar but will not give up the nomination rights until the end."

Regarding Leader Lee's declaration to give up parliamentary immunity, former lawmaker Shin said, "He used it as a card through his leadership speech on June 19, but it doesn't seem like he used it cleanly," adding, "He attached conditions such as a roll-call vote on the arrest consent bill or a 'justified arrest warrant,' so it doesn't seem like he completely eliminated it, and it is still valid."
Regarding the rumors of "Leader Lee's resignation in October and the appointment of lawmaker Kim Doo-kwan as his successor," he said, "The credibility is low." However, about the background of these rumors, he said, "What has been supporting Leader Lee was public opinion polls, and the silent observers could not say much to Leader Lee because of the party's approval ratings, but recently, it has been shaking mainly in the metropolitan area and Honam region. Also, it started to shake due to the reversal of testimony by former Gyeonggi Province Deputy Governor Lee Hwa-young related to the Ssangbangwool North Korea remittance case."
Regarding the meeting between Leader Lee and former leader Lee Nak-yeon held on the 28th, he said, "Two lawmakers, Yoon Young-chan and Kim Young-jin, who prepared for the meeting, represented the former and current leaders," adding, "On Yoon's side, they said, 'Meeting is not easy, and the situation is very difficult now, so let's convey various messages,' but Leader Lee's side actually did not pay attention to that."
He continued, "It was just 'Let's meet and have Makgeolli,' something like that," and said, "It seems that just meeting once, taking a photo, and the word 'unity' were important. It seems Leader Lee is not in a hurry yet."
