The Korea Meteorological Administration announced that at 7:07:59 PM on the same day, a magnitude 3.5 earthquake occurred 17km north of Jangsu-gun, Jeollabuk-do. The epicenter depth was 6km. The instrumental intensity measuring the shaking was recorded as a maximum of 5 in Jeollabuk, 3 in Gyeongnam, Chungnam, and Chungbuk, and 2 in Gyeongbuk, Gwangju, Daejeon, and Jeonnam.
An intensity of 5 means almost everyone feels it, dishes and windows break, and cracks appear on plaster walls.
