A taxi driver who drove under the influence and crashed into the police riot headquarters has been booked.
The Jungbu Police Station in Seoul announced on the 29th that they have booked a man in his 60s, identified as driver A, on charges of drunk driving and obstruction of official duties under the Road Traffic Act.
At around 12:25 a.m. that day, Mr. A, in a state of heavy intoxication, attempted to enter the main gate of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency Riot Headquarters and scratched a riot police officer who tried to stop him.
Alcohol testing revealed that Mr. A's blood alcohol concentration was at the license cancellation level (0.08% or higher).
During the police investigation, Mr. A reportedly stated that he has no memory of the incident at all.
