Addressing Various Conflict Situations That May Arise During Marriage Preparation and Daily Life

Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) is recruiting 12 couples to participate in the 'Premarital Class' starting August 1.

Hosted by the Gwangjin-gu Family Center, the 'Premarital Class' is a family education program designed for a happy married life. It teaches how to resolve conflicts that may arise during the marriage preparation process and married life.

Any couple living in Seoul who is about to marry or interested in marriage can participate.

The program will be held on August 26 at the Seoul Youth Center Gwangjin Orang, divided into two sessions. First, in the first session, participants will learn about each other's differences through the DISC behavioral type test and take time to accept each other's strengths and weaknesses. In the second session, couples will learn happy communication methods. They will understand the importance of communication and practice conversation techniques for conflict resolution.

The premarital class held last March had 18 couples participating. Couples gave great feedback, saying, "The communication methods were very helpful, and it was a time to think from the partner's perspective," and "It was good to learn couple communication methods that are not taught anywhere else."

This recruitment is for 12 couples. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis from August 1 to 21 on the Gwangjin-gu Family Center website.

Mayor Kim Kyung-ho said, "We have prepared this program for couples dreaming of a healthy and happy married life," and added, "I hope it will be a time to deeply understand and empathize with each other."
