Long Distances Favored by Solo Travelers, Short Distances Popular Among Family Tourists

Kyowon Tour's 'Yeohaengiji' announced on the 28th that long-distance travel products accounted for 53% of overseas travel departure reservations from late September to early October, which includes the Chuseok holiday period.

The most popular travel destination compiled by Yeohaengiji was Barcelona, Spain, ranking first. Europe showed strong performance with destinations such as Rome, Italy (3rd), Istanbul, Turkey (6th), and London, UK (8th) all within the top 10.


Regarding customer composition per team, long-distance products were generally dominated by two-person groups, followed by solo travelers. In Barcelona, two-person groups accounted for 55%, followed by solo travelers at 15%. Next were four-person groups (12%), three-person groups (9%), and six-person groups (4%). In Rome, two-person groups made up 46%, followed by solo travelers (23%), four-person groups (16%), three-person groups (9%), and six-person groups (2%).


For short-distance destinations, preferences were high for Da Nang, Vietnam (2nd), Sapporo, Japan (4th), Osaka (5th), Nha Trang, Vietnam (9th), and Taipei, Taiwan (10th).


Short-distance products showed a high proportion of family travelers following two-person groups. In Da Nang, the two-person group proportion (33%) was lower compared to long-distance products, while three-person or more family groups such as four-person (27%), three-person (15%), and five-person (9%) exceeded half of the customer base.


In Osaka, the order was two-person (35%), four-person (25%), three-person (16%), solo travelers (7%), and five-person (4%). Despite being a short-distance product, Sapporo's customer composition was similar to that of long-distance products, with two-person groups at 52% followed by solo travelers at 18%. Next were three-person (8%), four-person (8%), and six-person (6%) groups.


Yeohaengiji is holding a 'Golden Holiday Early Reservation Promotion' offering discounts to customers who have not yet booked products.
