April Status Changes: 45 Senior Officials Disclose Assets
Minister, Vice Minister, Spouse, and Eldest Son Hold Deposits Worth 4.8 Billion KRW

Jang Yong-seong, a member of the Financial Monetary Policy Committee who deliberates and decides on monetary policies for national price and financial stability, reported assets worth 6.9 billion KRW. Jang Ho-jin, appointed as the 1st Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs last April, held assets worth 9.8 billion KRW.


The Government Official Ethics Committee disclosed the assets of 45 high-ranking officials whose status changed last April on the 28th. The subjects included 18 newly appointed, 10 promoted, and 11 retired officials.

Vice Minister Jang had the largest assets among the reporters. Vice Minister Jang and his family held deposits totaling 4.8 billion KRW. Of this, 3.38 billion KRW was under his spouse's name, and he also reported real estate assets worth 2.78 billion KRW, including an apartment (166.98㎡) in Seobinggo-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, owned by himself, and a mixed-use residential building (98.53㎡) in Bucheon-si, Gyeonggi-do, owned by his spouse.


Financial Monetary Policy Committee member Jang reported assets worth 6.89 billion KRW. He owned an apartment (113.46㎡) in Namsan Lotte Castle Iris, Hoehyeon-dong 1-ga, Jung-gu, Seoul, valued at approximately 1.14 billion KRW, and an apartment (101.9㎡) in Parktown, Sunae-dong, Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do, valued at about 860 million KRW, both under his and his spouse's names. He also reported deposits of 2.82 billion KRW under his name and 280 million KRW under his spouse's name.


His stock holdings exceeded 2 billion KRW. Member Jang held listed stocks worth approximately 2.01 billion KRW under his name, including 3,700 shares of Amazon, 5,360 shares of Alphabet, and 11 shares of Tesla. His spouse held listed stocks worth about 24 million KRW, including Apple and Tesla shares.


Kim Seung-hee, Protocol Secretary of the Presidential Secretariat, reported assets worth 1.5 billion KRW, including an apartment (142.01㎡) in Bundang-gu, Seongnam, Gyeonggi-do, and part of a resort facility in Asan, Chungnam.


Additionally, Song Sang-min, Secretary General of the Fair Trade Commission, reported assets worth 910 million KRW, and Park Chun-seop, a former Public Procurement Service head and Financial Monetary Policy Committee member, reported assets worth 1.14 billion KRW. Former Jeonnam Provincial University President Park Byung-ho (6.59 billion KRW), former Bank of Korea Monetary Policy Committee member Joo Sang-young (4.8 billion KRW), and former Korea Communications Commission standing member Kim Chang-yong (3.04 billion KRW), who retired in April, also disclosed their assets.
